V.J. Scozzari & Sons, Inc. served as the Design-Builder and Construction Manager for the comprehensive renovation, alteration, and expansion of the Buildings & Grounds facility at The Lawrenceville School. This project, while part of the broader Tsai Commons and Field House initiative, was managed as a distinct and independent effort, tailored to meet the operational needs of the Buildings & Grounds department.

The project included the renovation of the existing 12,945 square foot, two-story building, modernizing infrastructure and optimizing space utilization. As well as the construction of a new Pre-Engineered Building addition totaling 11,670 square feet on the first floor and 3,760 square feet on the upper level, designed to expand operational capacity and support future growth. In addition, the work included the installation of a 3,652 square foot vehicle carport, providing essential protection for Buildings & Grounds maintenance vehicles from inclement weather.

Additional work involved upgrades to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, integration of sustainable building practices, and enhancements to staff workspaces, storage areas, and fleet maintenance zones.

A hallmark of this project was the close coordination with The Lawrenceville School’s Buildings & Grounds staff, whose operations are vital to the daily functioning of the campus and the broader school community. Throughout the design and construction phases, V. J. Scozzari & Sons, Inc. worked in active partnership with school personnel, ensuring:
– Minimal disruption to ongoing services.
– Phased construction sequencing to maintain full operational continuity.
– Responsive design adjustments based on real-time feedback from staff.

This collaborative approach fostered a seamless integration of construction activities with daily operations, reinforcing the School’s commitment to excellence and uninterrupted service.

The Spiezle Architectural Group provided comprehensive design services, working in tandem with V. J. Scozzari & Sons, Inc. to deliver a solution that was both functional and forward-thinking.
