 V.J. Scozzari & Sons, Inc. was recently named as one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey by being selected in an award program created in 2005. The survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in New Jersey, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 55 Best Places to Work in New Jersey. The first part of the process consisted of an evaluation of the company’s workplace polices, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure employee experience and satisfaction with the company.

V.J. SCOZZARI & SONS, INC. has announced the following additions to their staff.  In announcing the additions to staff Gregory Scozzari, President of V. J. Scozzari & Sons, Inc. stated that “In spite of the economic turmoil of the past year his firm is adding staff to key positions within the company to be prepared to service the needs of his clients as they prepare to capitalize on the most opportune time in the last ten years to undertake construction projects ranging from renovations and alterations to expansion of existing facilities and new construction of new projects.”    

            Ryan Shaeffer, Assistant Project Manager. Ryan Shaeffer is a Drexel University Graduate where he majored in Construction Management and participated in the School’s Co-Operative Education program working for some the Philadelphia region’s most active construction companies. Ryan Shaeffer has extensive experience in project expediting and organization. Projects including healthcare, pharmaceutical, retail, hospitality, industrial and educational facilities have added to Ryan Shaeffer’s resume. 

            William J. Smith, Project Engineer. William Smith joins V. J. Scozzari & Sons after an eight year commitment to successfully managing the implementation of over 40 wireless in-building system solutions for fortune 500 companies in Manhattan and the Greater New York City Area. William Smith has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Seton Hall University and a Certification in Project Management from George Washington University.

            Jeannette Venezia, Accounting-Accounts receivable and billing specialist. Jeannette Venezia has joined the firm in the Accounting Department and brings to the position her experience in accounting and administration. Jeannette Venezia is a graduate of Union County College and has worked with one of the region’s leaders of luxury apartment communities.

V.J. SCOZZARI & SONS, INC. has commenced construction management services for a new state-of-the art school for Eden Autism Services (Eden).

            A new school and offices are being built at the 52 acre Princeton Forrestal Village (PFV) in Plainsboro, NJ for Eden.  The project will encompass 3 acres on the south side of the PFV, and will include outdoor recreation areas, playgrounds, and walking trails. The two-story building, in its final stage of design, will be approximately 37,000 square feet and will feature classrooms, therapy spaces, vocational spaces, a gymnasium, a weight training room, a cafeteria, as well as offices and support space. Sustainable principles incorporated into the project include energy-efficient heating, air-conditioning systems, and lighting systems as well as material selections. In addition, the building design allows natural light to reach virtually every interior space in the building.  

V. J. SCOZZARI & SONS, INC. has been providing construction management services to Eden since September 2008. Pre-Construction Services have included assisting in the planning and approval process, expediting certain utility and regulatory agency approvals, costs estimating, scheduling, and construction phase planning.

Scozzari & Sons, Inc. stated “Eden is truly one of the country’s premiere provider of services to individuals with autism and their families and this new facility will further their efforts in their mission”. Cultech, Inc. is proud to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for its new factory/offices which took place on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the building site in South Plainfield (3500 Hadley Road). This ceremony gathered together city officials, company executives and employees, and representatives of the design-builders.

This new facility will be part of a major investment plan, which will allow Cultech to double its activity in New Jersey. Its workforce is expected to grow to about 200 employees. Operations are scheduled to start in Summer 2009.

Cultech, Inc. is a privately owned company, established in 1989, which has steadily grown into one of the leading actors in the packaging industry, leveraging its innovation capabilities and craftsmanship. Lawrenceville, NJ – V.J. SCOZZARI & SONS, INC. is proud to announce the addition of Don Ehret to its Estimating Staff. 

 

Don Ehret has recently made the transition from Project Superintendent for V.J. Scozzari & Sons, Inc. to Project Estimator.  Don joins the estimating team of V.J. SCOZZARI & SONS, INC. and will play an integral role in the department by relying on his years of hands on experience, and utilizing traditional and innovative methods of estimating.  His responsibilities will include coordinating contractor and vendor trade invitations and relationships; supporting scheduling activities during pre-construction phase services, budget and estimating during the Pre-Construction and Construction Phase of Projects.

 

Don Ehret brings with him a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University.  Having over twenty-seven years experience in construction, with fifteen of those years as project superintendent in both the public and private sectors, Don is familiar with all aspects of new construction and renovation work.  To date Don has been an essential component in the building of many projects within New Jersey.  His extensive background in construction includes site development and field operations, as well as project engineering and management.

Roma Bank has selected V. J. Scozzari & Sons, Inc. to construct their newest branch bank located at 400 Route 539 in Cream Ridge, NJ. The bank will be located at the intersection of Allentown Pinehurst Road (County Route 539) and Monmouth Road (County Route 537).

V. J. SCOZZARI & SONS, INC. was Construction Manger and Design/Builder for Roma’s corporate headquarters in Washington Township that opened last year.

V. J. SCOZZARI & SONS, INC has assisted the bank through the site planning process, municipal and regulatory authority approvals, and through design and construction. The project is designed by the architectural Firm of Schmitt Anderson Architects.

Lawrenceville, NJ – V.J. SCOZZARI & SONS, INC. is proud to announce receiving the following award.

 Masonry Construction magazine has named The Community Association Underwriters of America’s Corporate Guest House as its Project of the Year for Historic Restoration. The guest house formally referred to as the Farm House is located in Newtown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The publication’s editor noted that there was a common theme in those selected, that “it took ingenuity and skill of the mason contractor to solve and build the dream of the architect.” The editor continued in stating that “Some projects wouldn’t have their impact if it wasn’t for the contractor’s ability”.

 ROMA BANK'S new 48,000 square foot corporate headquarters has been chosen by The New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) as one of this year's recipient’s of the New Good Neighbor Awards. The award was presented to Roma Bank Chairman MAURICE PERILLI and President/CEO PETER INVERSO during the 46th annual New Good Neighbor Awards luncheon in June. V. J. SCOZZARI & SONS, INC. was the Bank’s Construction Manger and Design/Builder. The firm assisted the bank through the site planning process, municipal and regulatory authority approvals, and through design and construction.

The Project is located in the award winning Washington Town Center, New Jersey's first Neo Traditional Town Center and the nation's first such community designed by a municipality. The award also recognized architect Schmitt Anderson Architects.
