V.J. Scozzari & Sons, Inc. was incorporated in the State of New Jersey in 1984. Vincent J. Scozzari, Sr., President, had for the previous 35 years been the president of Scozzari Construction Company. He specialized in institutional, commercial and industrial construction. He constructed and managed numerous projects throughout Mercer, Hunterdon, Ocean, Middlesex, Monmouth Counties and Bucks County, Pennsylvania. His name is a respected one in the construction industry, throughout Central New Jersey. Some of his work has been featured in national publications such as Architectural Record as well as other trade publications. We are not able to list all of the projects that Vincent J. Scozzari, Sr. has completed, the quality and magnitude of his contracting experience is extensive.
In 1984 Vincent J. Scozzari, Jr. and Gregory Scozzari joined with Vincent J. Scozzari, Sr. to form V.J. Scozzari & Sons, Inc. Both Vincent and Greg graduated from The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Vincent went on to graduate from Northeastern University in Boston. While in Boston, he also attended Weintworth Institute of Technology for a formal education in Construction Technologies. Gregory graduated in 1985 from Rider College in Lawrenceville, New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce.
In 1994, Richard A. Alito joined the firm initially as a Project Superintendent, then as a Project Manager and since 2002 as the firm’s Vice President of Construction. Alito’s 20 year background in construction commenced at Princeton University – Civil Engineering Department in 1980.
Since the inception of this Corporation, the firm has Constructed and Managed a wide variety of commercial, retail, financial, industrial, institutional, and healthcare projects of both public and private ownership. These projects have ranged from new facilities, to the retrofit of buildings, to tenant fit-out work, complete renovations, historical restorations as well as warehouses, distribution centers, recreational facilities, sports complexes, office buildings, financial institutions, municipal complexes and site development.
The operations of the Firm include Construction Management, General Construction, and Design/Build Services. Because of our expertise, we can offer our clients the convenience of handling their projects from conception through completion, handling every detail required or participating in any manner that the Owner deems appropriate.
While the company is based in Central New Jersey, Lawrenceville and has had a long trusted relationship with the local building departments, we have also established relationships with the State, County and most of the building departments throughout the area. We have worked with the State Department of Community Affairs, State Department of Building & Construction, as well as the local Historical Societies, and various Soil Conservation Districts, and other regulatory Agencies.
Achievements in Design, Construction, and Management have been a factor in the success of the organization. The firm's history dates back to 1940 when Nicolo Scozzari first came to this country and began work as a stone mason. His work ethics and handcrafted workmanship are evident today in the Firm's commitment to quality and integrity in Construction and Management. These commitments have earned the firm the Award as One of The Top Twenty Privately-Held Firms in Central New Jersey. The selection committee cited "a commitment to excellence" as one of basis for bestowing this recognition upon the firm.
